Global Fleet Survey: AME needs more fleet managers to unleash its potential

The Global Fleet Survey 2021 drew an interesting profile for the Africa Middle East fleet region. Hungry for EVs, the region Africa Middle East also brings challenges with the lack of infrastructure and policies on carbon emission.

AME needs a shift in every aspect of fleet management. Adoption of alternative fuel vehicles witnessed only 4% increase between 2019 and 2021. Discovering connected car technologies and strengthening the supplier network is also critical for fleet managers.

The characteristics of AME represents a challenging market for newcomer and experienced fleet managers. No more than 11% of the fleet managers expect a fleet expansion. Successful fleet policies and increased investment in alternative fuel vehicles can refresh the important used car market of Africa and distance the Middle East from its dependency on oil.
