J.D. Power to acquire Autovista Group

J.D. Power moves further into Europe and Australia by acquiring Autovista Group

J.D. Power, a global data analytics company, has agreed to acquire Autovista Group to expand services further in Europe and Australia. Austovista Group owns automotive data companies, including Glass's and Eurotax, to significantly enhance the consumer insight and advisory services capacity of J.D. Power.

The acquisition will merge Autvista Group's European and Australian market intelligence with J.D. Power's predictive analytics, valuation and customer experience datasets, thus creating stronger value for customers of both companies. The integrated abilities of J.D. Power and Autovista Group will be critical for OEMs, dealers, insurers and financing companies to track critical trends in the automotive industry and equip them with the tools to forecast risks and set up strategies lined up with real-time market dynamics.

Highlighting the trend among U.S. consumers of increasingly adopting the European model of configuring and ordering a custom vehicle specification, Dave Habiger, president and CEO at J.D. Power, says that Autovista's comprehensive, vehicle-specific data and analytics will guide OEMs accordingly to changing customer behaviour.

Autovista Group standardises and categorises technical attributes for every vehicle manufactured in the European and Australian markets through its five brands: Autovista, Eurotax, Glass's, Schwacke and Rødboka. In addition to providing a complete view of detailed vehicle data, analytics solutions and analyst teams of Autovista Group provide detailed insights and benchmarks to the automotive industry, from vehicle costs to repair estimates.

By pairing pan-Europe and Australia-focused datasets with J.D. Power's North American and Asian market data and data analytics skills, Autovista is creating a global solution to help the automotive industry during a period of radical change, says Lindsey Roberts, CEO at Autovista.

The acquisition of Autovista Group by J.D. Power is expected to be finalised by the end of 2023. J.D. Power has offices in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Following the acquisition, Autovista Group will become J.D. Power's automotive data and analytics platform for Europe and Australia.
