Challenges in your Latam fleet? attend Global Fleet Conference 2022

One of the biggest challenges for vehicle fleet and mobility professionals in Latin America is dealing with inflation as it is approximately four times the world average.

The average inflation rate in Latin America was 11.9% in 2021 and it is expected to be 10.4% in 2022. The average worldwide, according to a Bloomberg report, is 3.7% and 3.5% respectively.

Moreover, considering precarious road conditions and the incidents of vehicle and cargo theft in the region, another challenge to look out for is keeping fleet vehicles, drivers, and road users safe and sound.

Finally, just like most regions around the world, Latin America also faces the challenge of dealing with the lack of microchips, raw materials, and vehicles which have resulted in turn around times of six months or more.

One way to deal with this is to increase knowhow and to network with peers, something that can be achieved by attending the 2022 Global Fleet Conference on 2-4 May in the Cascais coastal region of Lisbon Portugal.

Global Fleet Conference

There is one key ingredient that will make your global fleet management a success in 2022 and beyond and that ingredient is Sustainability, the overall topic of the 2022 Global Fleet Conference.

On 2 May (13:30-15:00), the Business Networking Group of Fleet LatAm (the Latin America arm of Global Fleet) will be holding its third of six meetings in 2022. It is open exclusively for members only. (see second meeting info here)

The Fleet LatAm Business Networking Group is a community of companies which are involved in corporate mobility across Latin America. Made up of fleet managers, suppliers, and start-ups operating in one or more countries in Latam, the objective of the group is to stimulate international business opportunities in fleet and mobility across the region. Come and join the meeting!

On 3 May, two sessions could be of interest to those with fleets in Latin America. They will address global issues which could impact the region such as surging energy prices, the ongoing microchip shortage, and the variations one my find in business preferences, supplier offers, and customer needs in different markets.

The first, entitled “Global Economy Trends: Towards the circular economy in volatile environment” will take place 09:15-09:40. It addresses sustainability in the circular economy or to say emphasizing on the re-use of materials rather than continued reliance on dwindling raw materials.

The second, entitled “Around the Globe in 70 Minutes: Inside Regional Fleet Management Trends” will take place 9:40-10:20. Remember that no two fleet regions and market maturities are the same. In this session, we will look at what binds the various fleet regions of the world, and what divides them.

Among the confirmed speakers at the conference are Yuliya Lapenkova who is Cost Category Spend Manager HR Services at Philips as well as European Fleet & Mobility Manager of the Year 2021 and Jan-Hendrik Rauhut who is Global Fleet Manager at Bayer as well as Global Fleet Manager of the Year 2021. There will be many other speakers at the event, and their confirmations will be made available in the coming days.

With that said, who better to learn best practices then from global fleet peers such as Mr. Rauhut and other members of the Global Fleet Managers Club. Join this exclusive group of international fleet managers which will also be meeting on 2 May (15:30-17:00) at the Global Fleet Conference.

And for those who can make it, make sure to say hi to some of the Global Fleet team covering Latin America, especially Fleet LatAm President Pascal Serres, Fleet LatAm and Global Fleet (Americas) Editor Daniel Bland, and Global Fleet and Fleet LatAm Chief Editor Steven Schoefs.
