Fleet LatAm advisory board meet up in Miami

During the last Fleet Latam advisory board meeting which took place on 6 June in Miami at the 2019 Global Fleet Conference, a total of 22 board members and collaborators came together to discuss upcoming plans for the automotive fleet and mobility industry in Latin America.

Among them were initiatives aimed at bringing together vehicle fleet and mobility managers and suppliers, the 2019 Global Fleet survey, ideas for Fleet LatAm magazine edition No. 4 and details regarding the upcoming Fleet LatAm conference in Mexico City.

The meeting kicked off with an introduction by each attendee (see below), including the welcoming of four new advisory board members.

The new members are Francisco Xavier Fuentes (special business manager for car rental and leasing company Avis-Mareauto in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru); Gustavo Ladeira (CBDO for telematics firm Pointer In Latin America); Kevin Kibilds (Fleet Operations Director at MSD pharmaceuticals); and Michael Cuzzo (Global leader for fleet at IBM).

In terms of developing partnerships to enlarge the Fleet LatAm network, collaborations have already started with Brazilian fleet and mobility platform Instituto PARAR, Brazilian automotive leasing and rental association ABLA, and Mexican vehicle rental and leasing association AMAVE.

To integrate a substantial number of fleet managers into the Fleet LatAm network, a few of the meeting attendees indicated fleet management association plans taking place in the region, primarily in Mexico and Brazil. Fleet LatAm will be working on incorporating with them to support their great networking initiatives.

Also brought up at the meeting was the new Global Fleet survey, an interesting tool to help industry players better understand the trends of fleet management through the eyes of 107 companies which represent 800,000 cars and 300,000 LCVs.

Finally, the board discussed collaborative efforts for Fleet LatAm magazine edition No. 4. It will be written in July and launched in time to distribute at the first-ever Fleet LatAm conference and training scheduled for 23-25 September in Mexico City.

The event boasts a two-day conference with in depth presentations, case studies and panel discussions aimed at giving ample networking opportunities with international peers and business leaders, followed by a full-day training session featuring interactive lectures and workshops for vehicle fleet managers who have multi-country responsibilities.
