Fleet Latam Manager of the Year award, 2022 Jury Members named
The process to select candidates for the 2022 Fleet LatAm Manager of the Year has begun and a nine-member Jury of regional experts is scheduled to shortlist names next week Tuesday (9 August).
Thereafter, the shortlisted candidates will compete in a final round of presentations and interviews, and a winner will be announced during the Fleet LatAm Conference in Mexico City taking place 19-20 September.
This year's jury includes five executives representing some of the most influential suppliers in the region, being four from vehicle leasing and fleet management companies and one from a leading telematics firm.
Also on board with us is the 2021 Fleet LatAm Manager of the Year and last but not least, three key experts from Fleet LatAm.

With over 20 years’ experience in Latin America, USA and Canada, Tania Mijas specializes in Indirect Procurement with strong category portfolio management experience within the healthcare industries. Besides holding senior management positions at GE Healthcare and Roche Brazil, she has been Director of Category, Innovation and Process Excellence and Director of Travel and Fleet Americas at Genentech (Roche’s Group) in the US where she implemented a fleet electrification global strategy and a Fleet Management Company overseeing more than 3,500 cars. Based out of San Francisco, Ms. Mijas has degrees from various universities in Brazil: Languages (Unicamp); Business Administration (PUC), MBA-Strategic Negotiation (Centro Ibero Americano-Sao Paulo).

Sean Killen is Vice President for Latin America at Geotab. He has over 20 years of experience creating and leading top sales teams in the technology sector. His background spans across VP and Director level roles in a breadth of industries including Fortune 100 companies such as Oracle, and AB InBev, as well as telecommunications companies (Vodafone and Blackberry). Focusing on cutting-edge technologies, he is passionate about leading sales teams, developing new markets, and leveraging brands to open new business channels. He is currently based out of Geotab's Latin American headquarters in Miami, FL

With more than 24 years of mobility industry experience worldwide, Kent Bjertrup first joined ALD Automotive in Denmark as Head of Customer Service in 1998 and went on to become Head of Sales in 2001. In 2005, he opened operations in Lithuania as General Manager and was appointed Managing Director in 2009 for three Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania). A year later, he moved to Russia as Managing Director before being appointed Regional Director in 2012 in North East Europe. In 2016, he transferred to Paris to become Group Chief Commercial Officer and most recently (2017) was appointed Regional Director for Latin America based out of Mexico.

A leasing expert with more than 20 years of experience in human resources and leading large commercial teams, Regina Granados is the Head of Lease Plan Mexico, one of the leading leasing and fleet management companies in the world. Besides being a top student for a high impact leadership program at Harvard Business School, she has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology from ITESM and a master’s degree from UVM and the European University of Madrid. Her goal is to promote a more inclusive and equitable workplace environment and to evolve the leasing industry.

With 15+ years of experience in commercial roles, Mr. Tamayo assumed his position as Country Head in early 2020 and under his management, Element has experienced double digit growth. He was previously Mexico VP of Sales for the company, and before that, he was Head of Structured Origination and Trade Finance for global corporate banking group Santander in Mexico, and held management positions for GE Capital Mexico, a General Electric business. Mr. Tamayo also has an Industrial Engineering bachelors’ degree from Universidad Anahuac, Mexico City and an International MBA from EADA Business School in Barcelona, Spain.

João Alberto Mazoni Andrade began his career as an entrepreneur, founding two start-ups in Brazil. In 2000, he joined the consultancy firm Roland Berger where he led several projects mainly focused on the automotive industry and financial services. He started at Localiza Fleet Solutions in 2004 as a Sales Director, then moved on to be Operations Director, and today he occupies the Managing Director position where he leads the Fleet Management Division and the Car Subscription Division Localiza Meoo. Mr. Andrade also has a degree in business administration from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and has graduated from the Kellogg School of Business Senior Management program.

Mr. Serres is a recognized expert in the mobility industry. Besides being elected in the Fleet Europe “hall of fame” in 2013 for his contributions to the fleet management and vehicle leasing industry, he guided ALD S.A. from 2002 until its successful IPO on the French market in 2017. Also that year, he created Moby-D, his own mobility consulting company. Currently, in addition to being a board member of Nexus Communication (Fleet Europe and Global Fleet networks) and chairing the Fleet LatAm advisory board, Mr. Serres is also a board member of Experteye, EPtender, and Optimum Automotive.
An American expat currently based out of São Paulo Brazil since 2004, Daniel Bland is Editor of Fleet LatAm and advisory board member of the Fleet LatAm Business Networking Group. He is also Editor for the Americas region of Global Fleet media, in charge of developing Fleet & Mobility content and expertise in the region, as well as founder of "VIP" Business English Courses. He was previously a foreign correspondent and transportation infrastructure analyst in Latin America and prior to this, he owned and operated various California-based small businesses. He also has a degree in media management from CSUN (Los Angeles).
Steven Schoefs, Belgian, has been a journalist for more than 20 years. He started as a journalist for Fleet & Business magazine in Belgium in 2000 and gradually extended his knowledge and scope to European and international vehicle fleet management journalism. For the last 10 years, he has been supervising the editorial strategy for leading platforms in international vehicle fleet and mobility management, Fleet Europe and Global Fleet. At the centre of his editorial philosophy lies added-value information for the international fleet and mobility community and the search for emerging trends and important business developments. He is also the moderator of fleet and mobility events and conferences Fleet Europe Summit, Global Fleet Conference, and others.
