INDIA: Hero Electric and Alt Mobility collaborate to enable green logistics

Maker of electric two-wheelers Hero Electric and platform provider for leasing EVs Alt Mobility have signed an agreement to provide green and affordable leasing of eScooters to the logistics sector in India.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate with logistics aggregators and fleet operators to deploy 10,000 Hero Nyx eScooters (pictured) by 2023. The logistics and last-mile delivery segment in India is growing rapidly and the government is keen to push EV adoption in logistics fleets.

Speeding up adoption of carbon-free mobility

"This association will aid us in enabling carbon-free mobility in the logistics market and cater to consumer needs of last-mile delivery offered by ALT Mobility," Hero Electric CEO Sohinder Gill said.

He continued: “With the changing market scenario and increased preference for the electric vehicle, we have understood the crucial need to boost EV adoption. We are witnessing more and more businesses opting for cleaner solutions to reach their consumers. At Hero, we strive to provide 360-degree solutions to our B2B customers through our strong network presence across India. This association will aid us in enabling carbon-free mobility in the logistics market and cater to consumer needs of last-mile delivery offered by Alt Mobility.”

Alt Mobility’s tech-enabled platform enables paperless onboarding of partners, vehicle management, access to a network of charging options and parking networks. The company says it provides a complete ecosystem of EV services for faster adoption. Hero Electric aims to convert 35% of sales from the B2B segment in the next four years.
