Brookfield injects US$105mn into Brazil's Ouro Verde following acquisition

To push the growth of Brazilian vehicle rental and fleet management company Ouro Verde, international asset management firm Brookfield has injected 500 million reais (US$105mn) into the business following its 100% acquisition of the company earlier this week.

According to Brookfield CEO of Brazil Henrique Carsalade Martins, the objective of the alliance is to expand Ouro Verde’s business throughout Brazil.

Ouro Verde, which rents light and heavy vehicles as well as equipment, has been operating in Brazil for more than 45 years. Serving more than 350 corporate clients, it has approximately 25,000 assets throughout the country.

Brookfield has a portfolio of more than US$350 billion throughout the world, of which some 100bn reais in assets is in Brazil. It started operations in the South American country 120 years ago.
