FlixBus expands to US East Coast

The German intercity bus company FlixBus is expanding its US presence to the East Coast.

The new routes will connect New York City, Baltimore, Washington, DC and Richmond. The company set up operations in the US last year, with routes in California and nine other West Coast states.

FlixBus is one of the new players that entered the long-distance bus market in the US starting around the year 2000. By offering more modern ticketing options and adding amenities like WiFi on board, they have taken on established companies like Greyhound.

FlixBus also allows riders to offset their carbon emissions during the payment process.
