Amazon delivering packages to five car brands

Amazon.com, through its Key In-Car service, has kicked off a service in the United States which permits the online retailer to deliver packages to five car brands, being Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and Volvo.

Customers monitor the delivery process step-by-step from their own mobile device. The delivery person's request to unlock goes through Amazon, and couriers are not able to move on to their next delivery until they have scanned the package confirming delivery, and then locked the vehicle back up.

The vehicles must be a 2015 model-year or newer and have an active connected service plan, such as OnStar or Volvo On Call.
