Asian automakers boast new U.S. models at LA Auto Show

Several Asian automakers are boasting new vehicle debuts for the US market for 2023, among them being Genesis, Honda, Hyundai, Lexus, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and Vinfast.

These brands are representing a significant number of the new vehicle models on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show which is highlighting automotive industry innovation and growth with a special emphasis on electrification this year.

Besides legacy brands from Japan such as Honda, Lexus, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota, among the models worth pointing out are those on showcase from the premium brand of Hyundai, being Genesis G80 and G90 sedans, GV60, GV70, and GV80 SUVs, and the G80 and GV60 electric models.

Although traditional gas-fueled models, as well as hybrid and hydrogen technologies are on display at the auto show, electric vehicles and other innovative technologies are at the forefront, being that the event is being held in the country’s innovation and EV mecca of California.

Besides air and micro-mobility, one innovation to look out for is the all-electric IONIQ 5 robotaxi, a Level 4 autonomous vehicle by Hyundai that can safely operate without a driver by using the autonomous technologies of Motional.

Solar charging conversion specialist 27North is also displaying a functional conversion for one of its rugged, luxury off-road exploration trucks, not to mention the electric vehicle charging technologies of Electrify America and more.

“As electrification continues to gain prominence among car-buyers, it will again be a prominent factor in the vehicles that will be unveiled…From technological advances to style and culture, our show will reflect the worldwide influence of California innovation and style,” says Los Angeles Auto Show President Terri Toennies.

On display at the LA Auto show from 18-27 November are models from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Charge Cars, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, ElectraMeccanica, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hummer EV, Hyperion, Hyundai, INDI EV, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Ram, Subaru, Toyota, VinFast, Volkswagen and Volvo.
