New appointments at Nissan North America and Latam

In line with its North America Transformation Plan, Nissan is making some important changes to its management team for North America. And there is also a new executive appointment for Latin America.

  • On 15 June, José Luis Valls will resign as president and chairman of Nissan North America (and executive vice president of Nissan Motor Co.) He’s leaving the company for family and personal reasons.
  • On the same day, Jérémie Papin (pictured left) will take on the role as vice chairman of Nissan North America. He will oversee the region and report to Christian Vandenhende, vice-chief performance officer and chief quality officer at Nissan Motor Co. Mr Papin joined Nissan North America in 2018, where he currently serves as senior vice president for administration and finance. Before this, he was global finance director for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and vice president for corporate strategy and business development at Groupe Renault.
  • A bit earlier, on 1 June, Mike Colleran (pictured right) will become senior vice president for marketing and sales at Nissan U.S. He replaces Airton Cousseau, who becomes vice-chairman of Nissan Latin America. Mr Colleran currently is Nissan corporate vice president and global chairman of INFINITI Motor Company. He will report to both Messrs Papin and Vandenhende.
