Domino’s Pizza expanding EV fleet to 855 Bolts in U.S.

Domino's Pizza will have a fleet of 855 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles (EV) on U.S. roads to deliver their pizza by the end of 2023, making it the largest electric pizza delivery fleet in the country.

Besides helping the company achieve its target of carbon neutrality by 2050, going from 112 Bolts in 2022 to 855 Bolts in 2023 will help attract and retain delivery drivers, Detroit Free Press reported.

In 24 international markets (including the U.S.), Domino’s already accomplishes some of its deliveries by electric bikes and/or scooters.

Franchisees first will decide on the specific stores they want to keep the EVs at and then invest in a charger. They will be paying for the EVs through 3-5-year leases. The vehicles will have to remain at the stores during off-duty time.
