18 days to Geneva: electric Audi Q4 e-tron cross-over concept

A car that many GIMS visitors will like to see, smell and touch is the concept of an all-electric midsized crossover called Q4 e-tron. The fact that it carries the Q4 badge means it will slot between the Q3 and the Q5 while adopting a sleek coupé styling. Similar antics can be seen at BMW, where the X2 is kind of the X6 for the masses.

The Q4 e-tron concept is due to be presented as a volume-production vehicle in late 2020/early 2021, Audi’s press release states. It will be based on VW Group’s MEB platform and play a significant role in the brand’s electrification plans. An Audi spokesman told AutoNews that the concept would be very close to the actual model. Like the I.D. Neo – the highly-anticipated Golf-sized EV – it will be built in Zwickau. This plant is to become VW Group’s European hub for EV production and be able to produce 330,000 EVs per year.
