Latin NCAP: Taos tops charts, Argo-Cronos falls short
The 2021 Volkswagen Taos SUV has received a five-star rating from Latin NCAP, the Latin America and Caribbean regional car safety assessment program.
Made in Mexico and Argentina, the 5-door hatchback boasts six airbags and has a curb weight of 1,683 kilos. Its score for adult occupant was 90%, child occupant (90%), vulnerable road users (61%), and safety assist systems (85%).
Meanwhile, the 2021 Fiat Argo (hatchback) and Cronos (sedan) has received a zero-star rating. Made in Brazil and Argentina, it comes with two airbags and weighs 1,392 kilos.
Its score for adult occupant was 24%, child occupant (10%), vulnerable road users (37%), and safety assist systems (7%). Both crash tests were conducted in December 2021.
