Parkgene is world's first P2P parking app

Two years after its startup as an innovative smart parking app, Parkguru has now changed into Parkgene, the world's first peer-to-peer (P2P) parking app using blockchain technology and cryptocurrency payment. 

Less than a year after its launch in July 2017, Parkguru gained more than 50,000 users by offering an innovative app that finds, books and pays for parking spots even before you arrive.  

Meanwhile, Parkguru subsidiary Parkgene developed a P2P service, allowing private parties to rent out and monetise their own parking spaces, using Gene tokens, the service's own currency, and one it envisions will become general throughout the automotive industry. 

Fully integrating Parkguru into Parkgene has created the world's first P2P parking application on blockchain - “like Airbnb, but for parking spaces”, as the company itself mentions.  Parkgene is able to offer access to 6 million parking spaces in 8,000 cities around the world. Users pay with cash, credit or debit cars, or – at selected parking spaces in Greece, in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies.
