Urgent.ly, the Uber for roadside assistance

Urgent.ly calls itself the Uber of roadside assistance.

When big OEMs go big on a startup, so should we: BMW, Porsche and Jaguar Ventures invest $21 million in mobility startup Urgent.ly. What could this mean for the future of mobility?

The self-proclaimed Uber for roadside assistance connects users to a variety of towing companies or service technicians. Similarly to Uber, the Urgent.ly users can follow when the assistance will arrive on a map. In line with the overall evolution of the market in which customers demand fast and accessible solutions, traditional roadside assistance has to develop in a similar way, which is precisely the gap Urgent.ly is filling in.

Eventually the partnership of the above-mentioned OEMs with the startup will result in the improved, technology-enabled customer experience which the changed market demands. Additionally, The flexibility of Urgent.ly reaches its heights in its partnership with BMW Group, where it will be integrated in its current roadside assistance service ecosystem, including the BMW Connected Drive Customer Interaction Centre and BMW Servicemobile.
