MiX Telematics partners in Brazil to improve fuel efficiency

International Telematics firm MiX Telematics has announced a new partnership with a leading public transport and waste management company in Brazil.

The company, of which its name was not disclosed, has over 15,000 employees operating from 33 locations in Brazil. The contract entails providing telematics technology aimed at reducing fuel consumption and increasing efficiency for 352 connected vehicles, with a proof of concept for another 1,000 vehicles.

Fuel usage and efficiency are key performance drivers in Brazil today, especially in the face of rising fuel prices. From January to November 2021, the price of gasoline in the country has increased some 40% to 6.56 reais (US$1.16) per liter.

Through fleet and mobile asset management, MiX Telematics delivers SaaS solutions to 753,000 global subscribers in more than 120 countries.
